Programmes & National School Tours

jetty_jumps.jpgTanagh OEC aims to help teachers implement the Outdoor and Adventure Activities Strand of the New Physical Education curriculum.

This programme may be offered as a day programme or as a residential experience for the children. Our outdoor challenge activities include:

  • An introduction to canoeing
  • Orienteering
  • Group solving problem exercises in Dartrey Wood
  • Climbing
  • Archery

The National School Outdoor Education Programme is delivered to the children in such a manner that everyone can participate and feel successful at the end of the session. They are non competitive and good fun.

The principle aim of this programme is to encourage children to adopt a healthier lifestyle based on an enjoyment & appreciation of the outdoors.

Add what our repeat business primary schools have to say:

“Brilliant Staff. Great activity tour suited for children aged 10-12” St Peter & St Paul’s NS, Drumconrath Co. Longford. 05/June/2009

“ Staff very friendly and very good with the children. Definitely returning to Tanagh. Everything was very well organised and the day was a great success” Sacred Heart PS, Granard, Co. Longford. 04/June/2009

“Thank-you to all the staff at Tanagh for the work that you have done for the children of Holy child PS. Along with our partner school Newmarket NS and our P7 pupils for their end of year residential, Tanagh has become a big part of our school culture. The children will never forget the experience of driving a speed boat around a lake. Brilliant. You’re all a wonderful staff and we look forward to seeing you again next year.” Principal, Holy Child PS, Belfast. May 2009
